If you want something you’ve never had then you you’ve got to do something you’ve never done.

Advising and Supporting
-
Interpersonal Skills: I aim to support students in every way that I can, though that sometimes means helping them to understand what they really need to succeed. I want to provide students with opportunities to further their growth in ways they never imagined possible. When I am interacting with a student in an advisory capacity, I strive to ask three questions:
-
What are your major goals for the next 2 years?
-
How do you plan on achieving those goals?
-
Will reaching those goals bring you joy?
-
-
Professional Development: I aim to provide students and staff with a plethora of developmental opportunities through workshops and programs geared towards demonstrating support. I have given presentations that discuss the increase in stress many students face with strategies for coping with this stress.
-
Conflict and Crisis Situations: I have been through QPR training in order to handle specific crisis situations that may have drastic consequences if not addressed. In addition, I have studied mental health issues in CNS 577: Counseling Concepts and Applications for Student Affairs Professionals.
