Foundational and Theoretical Principles of Leadership: I have become very familiar with the principles of leadership through my involvement as a facilitator with the Dynamic Leadership Institute and my experiences in Leadership and Administration in Student Affairs.
-
Self-Awareness and Continual Reflection: I think it is of the utmost importance that each leader spend time on self-reflection to ensure that their practices align closely with their beliefs and values. In addition, reflection can help in identifying ways in which a leader may not be effectively managing those around them. I have implemented mentor-ship groups that promote accountability and growth among the mentees and mentors alike.

Teamwork and Interpersonal skills: Throughout my many leadership positions, I have developed an understanding that each person needs to be led in a different way. Some must be directly led while others thrive in a laissez-faire setting. Providing opportunities for feedback help to ensure each team I'm working on feels as if their voice has been heard, so I incorporate evaluation in each setting.
