Organizational and Human Resources

  • Assessment, Advocacy, and Networking: I have contemplated the value of professional networks, and I have found that my involvement in the Southern Association for College and Student Affairs (SACSA) has been invaluable to my network and goal achievement.  Throughout my time in higher education, I have seen the political nature emerge as a powerful force that one must recognize and become competent in. 

  • Skill Development: Throughout my graduate work, I have organized many programs and developmental opportunities for those around me to gain knowledge in certain skill areas to remain engaged with the institution and the educational experience.

  • Hiring and Staffing: I am highly aware of my institution's fair and ethical recruitment and hiring.  In my graduate work, I handle the hiring, training, scheduling, and termination of a student staff of 50 undergraduates and 12 graduates. I strive to ensure diversity and equity remain a core value of our staff, and I am proud to say I have been able to incorporate diversity, equity, and inclusion in all of our hiring practices.
